Video || Glossy Box : September & Organic Boxes - Un-boxing & First Impressions

Hey guys,

If you've been hiding under a rock for the past few years then you may not know what a beauty box is so lucky for you, I have made a whole video where I undo the box, take out various beauty products and give you my first impressions.

Just kidding :o)

Of course I expect for you to know what a beauty box is but for those who don't it's a box of products (some skin care, some make-up, some nails) that the lovely people at Glossy Box put together once a month.  Sometimes they contain some really gems and sometimes then contain some complete duds.  Glossy Box aren't the only organisation to offer these but with some trial and error I have found that GB is the most consistently good box and the best value for money with them offering some excellent full size products and some good sized samples along with brands which you have heard of.

Boxes are usually £10.00 plus p+p but this month in addition to the usual monthly (September) box I decided to treat myself to the special one off organic edition box.  Contained within this box was the  promise to give you brands which are 100% natural and organic and although this is not something I am usually into I thought I would push myself out of my skincare comfort zone and give something new a try.  This box was around the £15.00 plus p+p which is slightly more but definitely well worth it.

Hope you enjoy my unboxing and first impressions and I will do a full post as and when I get round to really using all these products.

Review : Mascara keep smudging? I've got your perfect remedy - The Bourjois 1 Seconde Mascara

Hey guys,

It's been a long time coming but I'm finally doing a review of my new(ish) favourite mascara - the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Waterproof Mascara!

I have mentioned this product in many videos and posts in the past but I realised I've never actually done a full review of it.

I am not someone that would ordinarily reach for a waterproof mascara but I needed one for a festival I attended earlier in the year as it's inevitable that your mascara will run at some point during the day so I opted for the new Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde.

Don't let the name fool you, by no means is this volumized lashes in one second but it does a pretty good job of combing through the lashes to give a wonderful feathery effect.

The thing that sets this mascara apart from the rest is the tiny little balls that sit in the comb of the wand.   I don't know the science behind it but I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the bristles are there to separate the lashes and the balls are possibly supposed to curl them upwards within the same stroke.

Hopefully you can see here that my lashes look nice and lifted but also separate and feathery.  By using this mascara up and down in a zig zag pattern to grab and coat each lash you can really get some great definition in the lashes.

I'm not sure if the small little balls have anything to do with it but this does create a really great lengthened, false lash effect and I'm always really pleased with the results of this mascara.

I only have to use one coat of this mascara which is great for when I'm trying to get ready and out the door in the mornings before work.

Apart from the way this makes my lashes look long, I also love the fact that because it's waterproof - it never smudges.  That means that I can go to the gym and not worry about coming out looking like a panda!  The formula holds the curl it has created all day long so there's also no need to worry about leaving the house with lovely, long lashes and coming home to feeble, lank looking eyelashes because it does a great job of holding them in place, just where you left them you last time you looked in the mirror.

Would I buy this again?  Possibly. I am a very loyal L'Oreal Million Lashes fan but I can see myself picking up this mascara again in the future (once I've got through the ten I have waiting to be opened of course!).

If you can pick this mascara up in Boots and Superdrug and link is here - RRP £9.99.

Have you tried the 1 Seconde Mascara yet?  Let me know your thoughts in the comments or tweet me here.
